The homepage is designed for ease of use, with each section laid out to provide quick access to important content. Here are a few tips to help you navigate and get the most out of your homepage:

Search: While the search bar has gotten a visual update, its functionality remains the same. Click into the search bar and begin typing to find people, suggested searches, or pages.

Interactive Widgets: Up to six widgets will be shown in the area below the search bar to provide relevant and dynamic content. Hover over the tooltip next to a widget title to learn what the widget is about, and click on the expand icon to see additional content.

Q: How do I add or remove widgets from the homepage?

A: If you are an administrator of Sift, you can head over to your Admin Dashboard to add, remove, or rearrange widgets on the homepage. You may include up to six widgets in the layout. This layout will be shown to all end users, with content personalized to that user in each widget (depending on type).

If you are not an administrator of Sift, keep an eye out on the homepage in coming months to see new and exciting content!

Q: How do I update my profile information to appear accurately in the widgets?

A: Visit your Profile Page to ensure your information is current. In the future, we'll be releasing new homepage content that will rely on your profile being populated and current.

Q: Can I give feedback on the homepage or suggest new widgets?

For now, there are only a couple of widget types available, but going forward we'll continue to release new ways to surface valuable information and connections to users. See the Future Widget Types section below for more information.

My Team Widget: Use this widget to view your current team members, direct reports, and dotted line relationships. By expanding this widget, different relationships will be grouped together with the option to view them all within the Directory.

Rich Text Widget: This widget type is used to provide generic content such as links to external websites, company information such as a mission statement, or announcements. By expanding this widget, you will be able to view a fuller version of the content.

Featured Person: This widget type will highlight a person or group of people as a company showcase either statically or on an interval such as daily or weekly. From the widget, you can see who the team member is, their job title or role, and navigate to their profile to learn more about who they are.

People Matching (mentors, etc): This widget will provide you with recommended mentors or others to connect with in your organization by utilizing profile similarity and the user's preferences. Rather than needing to search for who to connect with, we'll provide you with recommended connections on a regular basis.

Featured Page: This widget will feature different Sift Pages within your organization, allowing you to highlight different groups, functions, or projects.

Open Roles: If you've added open roles to Sift, this widget will showcase them, and will link to the role profile, allowing you to view the job summary and requirements.

Date Milestones: Helps you celebrate date-based milestones across your organization. It will display people who have reached a milestone during the current day, week, or month such as a birthday or anniversary.

External Links: The External Links Widget will allow you to quickly access important company information. While this is currently possible with Rich Text, this will provide a more curated experience.
