Sift Pages let you create profile pages for "anything" in your organization using the same familiar experience that comes with creating your person profiles, as well as adding some additional functionality and benefits! These pages can exist for things like office locations, employee resource groups, or anything else. Take a look at our website for some use case examples.

Creating Page Types

Step 2: Go to the Pages section

In the Admin Dashboard, click Pages on the left side navigation. You will see a table that contains a list of all of your Page Types.

A Page Type refers to the type of thing you're trying to represent in the profile page. Each page type can have multiple profile pages. For example, you could have a Page Type called "Projects" and two different pages for "Project A" and "Project B". Each Page Type will have an assigned profile layout, so while Project A and Project B would have different information on them, they would both have attributes like "Project description", "Project status", etc. and their pages would be laid out in the same way.

Step 3: Click the "New Page Type" button

After clicking the "New Page Type" button on the top-right of the screen, you should see a dialog open that will walk you through creating your Page Type. The first step is to choose whether you want to create:

Attribute Pages: This is the most common option. Let's use our "Projects" example. Choosing this option will make it so Pages of the type you create (e.g. "Project A") can be associated to Person profiles inside of Sift. This means that people will be able to be assigned to these pages, and vice versa. When choosing this option, if "Ashly Bakey" is working on "Project A", she will appear on the Page for "Project A", and "Project A" will appear on Ashly's Profile Page.

Independent Pages: Independent Pages function the same way as Attribute Pages, except that they do NOT have people associated to them. With an independent page, there will be no "Members" tab on the page, and people will not have these pages on their profiles. They will only be available using search. Use cases for independent pages may be something like a company announcements page, or something informational that isn't necessarily associated to any individual person.

Step 4: Select the person attribute option

We are going to assume that we're creating "Attribute Pages" from the first step. For independent pages, you will only need to name your page type, then you're done!

You now have a couple of options:

Convert an existing attribute: If you already have data on your person profiles that you would like to make pages from, you should choose this option. For example, if you already have an attribute called "Office City" assigned to all of your people, you can convert this attribute, and we will automatically create all of the pages for you! After choosing this option, simply pick an existing attribute from the dropdown menu, and finish creating your page type. Afterwards, we will convert all of your existing values into pages in the background, you will be taken to the Page Type Management area, and we will let you know when they're finished being created.

Create a new attribute: If you want to create pages for something that you don't already have on Sift, such as Projects, you should choose this option. After choosing, you will be able to name your Page Type, and choose the type of attribute that you want added to your person profiles to associate pages to people.

Choose Page if you want people to only be able to be associated to one page of this type (ex: Office Location, Department)

Choose Page Collection if you want people to be able to be associated to multiple pages of this type (ex: Projects, Employee Resource Groups)

Step 5: Where do I go next?

Now that you've created your Page type, you will be taken to the Page Type Management area to set up your Page type further! This includes:

  • Creating pages

  • Updating the profile layout

  • Managing membership and access options

Managing Page Types

After creating page types, you may come back to this page at any time to view all of the types you've created, and click on one of them to be taken to its specific management area.
